Google is immense. Its impact on your marketing strategy is also huge, whether you think you are involved in “all that” or not. The truth is, we’re living in an age where Google completely rules how and where your company’s web site ranks based on the use of keywords, site code optimization, and now social factors as well. Search engine optimization helps websites rank higher in organic search results. If your company is practicing good SEO techniques, then that is making your website more discoverable to the people who want your product or service. So, how did one search company become the ultimate authority on rankings in online marketing, and just how big is Google actually becoming?

There are several interesting comparisons to be drawn between Google’s size and that of various other worldwide known HUGE things, like nuclear reactors and the GDPs of countries around the world. Google is massive. Super massive. And there’s no sign of this changing in the near future. Your organic search results are going to be dominated by Google for a long time to come, so you might as well know what you’re dealing with in terms of size. Here is the graphic:

In recent years, more and more small businesses have made their way onto Facebook, but if you haven’t created a Facebook page for your business yet, you might be thinking it’s not worth the time or trouble. You might even be intimidated by the process of setting up a page, especially if you don’t know how Facebook works or what it can do for your business. Lucky for you, Facebook has created a thorough but easy primer on how to get started. Aptly called Facebook for Business, this page is designed to help newbies get started building their businesses by creating a page, engaging their target customers, and promoting themselves in a meaningful way. But, you may be wondering, isn’t Facebook just for college kids?

“Facebook has come a long way since graduation,” says Lisa Montagne, a small business owner who sells adt home security in Maryland. “There are a lot of college kids, and even high school kids and younger, but now there are adults of all demographics using Facebook on a daily basis. And businesses are finding a lot of connections to be made that way.”

So, how do business owners who don’t use Facebook stack up against those who do? Check out the stats on the infographic below. You might just be persuaded to create your business Facebook page after you have a look at what this powerful social network can do for your company.

Being the business person that you are, you realize how important online marketing is to your entire marketing campaign. When you have a strategy for online marketing, then creating content is probably a key item in that strategy. This article is to offer you tips on how to get the best content for your online marketing campaigns. I realized when I was talking to a good friend who primarily sells incense and other herbal products that he was still lost as to how to create content that would help his online marketing. So, follow these tips to make sure you get better content.

Create a schedule and stick to it. All of your content that gets created should be easily found on a schedule that will allow for content to be ready to go on the day it is needed.

Distribute the created content. Your content is important, and you need to be certain that it is going out to as many people as quickly as possible. This means you need to find ways to distribute content. How do you do this? Use social media to get the word out. This means Twitter, Facebook, and blogs to help spread your valuable content.

Find writers that can create great content no matter the topic. The content you need will vary from time to time. You might need content geared toward different types of people, and great writers can do that. It doesn’t matter if the content is for social purposes or intellectual purposes, if you find great writers they will be able to change the lingo up to make it work.

Make sure you are not forgetting about the design of it all. Your website, blog, and other media outlets with your content on them need to have good design to encourage people to even read the content.

In the past two years the idea of businesses using social media for marketing purposes has become a huge component. It seems that more and more people and businesses are relying on all sorts of social media outlets to help to spread the word about new things, existing things, promotions and more. With that being the case, social media marketing is reaching new heights as far as earning businesses new customers, keeping loyal ones, and even increasing their revenues. After deciding to use social media for marketing, a business must then choose which of the many outlets that they will in turn use. Take a look at this infographic created by cmo.com for some pointers.

…when you decide to hire a web developer.

It is a quite common dilemma, you are a business owner or operator and unfortunately you lack a ton of experience in web development. With that being the case, you certainly need a web developer, right? Obviously the web developer that you hire should be quite professional and trustworthy as those things are very, very important. What else should you know about the prospective web developer though? Here is a list of questions for you to ask, to make certain that he or she will be the best web developer for you and your business.

What is it that you do? Any web developer that you meet with must be able to, in detail yet without being misunderstanding, give you the rundown on what exactly they will do. If they are too technical, this may be a way of conning you into choosing them. A web developer should be able to break it all down in a way that you can understand while still making sure they are including everything. The developer should also be able to break it all down from start to end, establishing goals and the end point throughout the entire process.

What type of software do you primarily work with? The type of software used is an important one if you do not want to be stuck with the same web developer for a very long while. Open sourced software is software that allows the web work to be worked on by any developer. Proprietary software does not allow this picking up where they left off sort of thing, and might force you into a very long relationship with that one developer.

How often, or do you outsource any business? Typically, most developers who outsource have an idea that one thing will work for all businesses. If you are looking for custom development, then outsourcing is not something that you want your developer to do.

Will the website you create have scalability? Developers know that appropriate needs for both the hardware and software required to ensure that your site is scalable. This means that when your site starts to have traffic, it will not crash under all of it.

If the web developer you meet with answers all of these questions to your liking, then you have yourself a winner.

Most people spend quite a bit of their time at work in an office setting. Consider this, 40 hours or even more of the around 112 hours we are awake, we are typically in our workplace. When you spend so much time in one place for so many days, it is nice to be comfortable and to feel quite safe. Unfortunately, there are some who are not even safe in their own homes because they lack some common knowledge. With that said, here is a handy list to keep in mind for safety at the office place. If you just use your common sense, most safety hazards are avoidable, but for those just in case purposes…

Do not lean too far back in your chair–Simple right? Then why is it that I have seen one person bust their butt or fall over from their chair more than two times? It’s true, I think some people like to test their boundaries and limits in the chair they work in. This can cause a serious safety concern if you are not careful, so please, don’t test how far your chair will let you lean, because in what case would you even need to be able to lean that far back in an office chair?

Turn off all space heaters and coffee makers prior to leaving for the day–This one happens quite a bit, and there is nothing worse than coming into work in the morning and smelling a burnt up coffee pot. That does not get your day started off to a good start. On top of it all, there is the possibility that the office may have caught fire, and while a little break from work due to a fire may seem appealing now, I doubt your boss would be too happy with you. Same thing goes with space heaters, just turn them off!

Do not turn the heat on during the summer–Another seemingly no brainer, but I have witnessed it happen. Not only have I seen someone turn the heat on in the summer, but it was on one of the hottest recorded days for the season so far! I’m all about being comfortable and neither hot nor cold, but when you turn the heat on and it’s 100 degrees outside, you are not thinking about your co-workers and the fact that they very well may suffocate. If you wish they would suffocate, then that’s a different story, and you probably shouldn’t have a job, so keep it on A/C during the summer, please. Cableinternetbundles.com has some great tips for your office. Check it out when you get a chance!

Do not put tape on your co-workers eyebrows–Go ahead laugh it up. I mean it’s all fun and games until someone loses an eyebrow. Scotch tape is used to repair torn paper and other objects possibly, but it is not good for office practical jokes. Be smart, keep the tape away from the face. If you DO happen to cause facial hair loss due to carelessness, b e a peach and offer them your coupon for the DirectTV150Offer.

Keep your hands and pens to yourself–Remember, you are a grown up now with a grown up job. Keep your hands to yourself, and other objects also. It is just plain juvenile to throw paper, pens, paper clips, etc. If you wanted to be able to act like a fourth grader, then you are most likely not cut out for an office job, just saying.

We hear regularly about all kinds of different businesses out there. Corporations, partnerships, LLC’s, and more. What do these titles mean and how do they differ among businesses? While it may sound complicated it is actually a very simply process. The main types of businesses are sole proprietorships, partnerships (which include general, limited, and LLP), and then corporations, which also include a wide range of different forms.

A sole proprietorship is no doubt the simplest form of company that there is. It is when a company and all of its assets and liabilities are owned by a single individual. There are several advantages to this format. For starters, the cost of doing business is low as there aren’t any special taxes or fees levied. Also, you are totally in control of your business and can direct it how you please. Unfortunately, you cannot raise as much capital, not to mention that any liabilities come back directly on you. This means the company’s debts are your debts.

Partnerships are when two or more people own a business. This may be in the form of a general partnership, which is essentially when two or more people own a business just like an individual owns a proprietorship: they have a share in the profits and the liabilities. Limited partnerships and LLPs, or Limited Liability Partnerships, all reduce the liability that investors face. This helps to attract more business because investors feel like their money is safer.

The last main type of company is a corporation. Examples would be ADT deals, Target, WalMart, etc. There are several large advantages and several large disadvantages to corporations. The main advantages are that it is very easy to raise capital through it. Public companies especially can raise billions of dollars with virtually no effort. This allows a lot of room to invest and work and eventually turn significant profits. It also allows for impartial management of the company, since the executive officers and the board of directors are not directly liable for any debts incurred. This means that riskier behavior that is necessary for the company’s well-being is more likely to be taken. There are several disadvantages, however. The main one is that corporations tend to be very cumbersome due to the strict regulatory laws imposed on them, as well as the special taxes and fees required to do anything significant. The mountains of paperwork and constant attention needed to simply run the company from a managerial standpoint is staggering, and requires a team of administrators in order to carry it out. This runs up a considerable expense. It also makes the company less responsive to quick market changes, thus they can be outpaced by smaller, more nimbler partnerships if the company’s market share isn’t strong enough.

To decide which business model is best for your company it depends upon a number of factors. Eventually, companies grow so large as to necessitate being incorporated. However, until this occurs it is preferable to keep your business either as a Limited Partnership or a Limited Liability Partnership.

With the high cost of living in most parts of the world, more and more people are engaging in businesses in a bid to supplement their income. The notion of a white collar job has long been discarded since even educated people from institutions of higher learning are coming up with business ideas and starting businesses.

It is not always a guaranteed that every business started will succeed. The major fear of most entrepreneurs is whether their business venture is worth it or not and whether it can grow to the limits they have set. Therefore, to be able to start a business, one needs to have an in-depth understanding of entrepreneurial skills.
The idea of what kind of business to start is very important. This could either be a small business or a big business, a partnership or a sole proprietorship. Knowing what kind of business you would like to start is key in your preparation prior to the start of your business.

A clear distinction of the business field you would like to engage in is also needed. Whether it is in the clothing field, confectionery field, cleaning field, hospitality field or artistic field, you need to be fully aware of the workings of that particular field you have decided to venture in. For example, if you are Direct SAT USA, you aren’t going to care about the food industry, but you WILL care about technology.
Financial ability is a decisive factor too when starting a business. This needs a long careful preparation. Starting a business comes with a long list of financial burdens that would need to be taken care of on a regular basis with services like topple track. The business premises need to be rented and paid on time to avoid an eviction. Electricity bills for businesses involving electricity consumption need to be paid. So are water bills if there is any usage of water while conducting the business. Will you be able to afford a large number of staff and be able to pay them on time or not? All this needs to be considered.
After consideration of the two, a business plan is needed. A business plan involves the goals that an entrepreneur has set for the new business, possible ways to attain them and also a background information of the business. These goals enable the individual or individuals to know what they are working towards achieving and the different possibilities for growth.

Check out www.myownbusiness.org on ways to create a business plan.
The entrepreneur should also be knowledgeable on the target market. If it is a business involving clothing, which type of market should be targeted. Is it the youth who are known to move with trends and have a constant change of fashion sense or the middle aged in job positions who are mainly conservative in official suits? Such considerations should be put in mind.
A thorough marketing of the product must be done before the start of a business. This makes known to the target market about the particular new business, what it engages in and what to expect from it. There are several websites giving lessons on selection of target markets and marketing such as www.esmalloffice.com, www.netmba.com, and www.formstack.com among others.
